Hello – and welcome to my website

I am a military historian and my latest book, The Black Prince, was brought out by Head of Zeus in July 2017 (and was published by Pegasus in the USA in May 2018). It was chosen as a 2017 Book of the Year by the BBC History Magazine.

As well as writing, I lecture regularly and have been consultant for a number of TV programmes. I also lead historical and battlefield tours. And I am a regular contributor to the History of War Magazine.
